PG and Research Department of Botany organized a ‘Skill Based Training on Basic
Techniques in Botany’‘on17thMay 2022at PG Botany Laboratory NGM College, Pollachi. The
Training program was conducted by the staff members of PG and Research Department of
Botany.They clearly explained and given hands on training about Chromatography techniques,
Isolation of plant genomic DNA, Synthetic seed production and Agarose Gel Electrophoresis and
• Chromatography techniques, Isolation of plant genomic DNA, Synthetic seed production
and Agarose Gel Electrophoresis. Flowingly the General instrumentation techniques were
explained by PG Botany students.The Training brought together over 34participants from UG
IIIrd year students and 2 participants from research scholars, Departments of Botany NGM
College. The Training was handled by resource Staff members of PG and Research Department
of Botany, Dr. R. Rakkimuthu, Dr. P. Sathishkumar, Dr. A.M. Anandakumar, Mrs. D. Sowmiya.
The training program provided an interactive atmosphere between the staff members and the
participants.
