Vision

VISION
Our dream is to make the College an institution of Excellence at the national level by imparting quality education of global standards to make students academically superior, socially committed, ethically strong and culturally rich citizens to contribute to the holistic development of the self and society.

The Department of Commerce came into being in the year 1968 to offer quality education in Commerce in this region. It has grown manifold and at present it offers post graduate as well as research programmes leading to the Ph.D. Degree. The Department has now embarked upon new initiatives to have linkages with the corporate world for facilitating Institute-Industry tie-up. The Department is headed by Dr. P. Bruntha who has 35 years of teaching experience to her credit. Six of the faculty members are Doctorates, while the remaining three faculty members are actively engaged in research. Most of the faculty have teaching experience of around twenty years.

• It has produced more than 80 Ph.D, in commerce
• Produced more than 380 M.Phil in commerce
• Submitted Two major projects and also one minor project
• Our Department faculty Dr.R.Manikandan has received more than 10 awards.
For his outstanding performance in various fields,
• Outstanding scholar award in NFED
• Pride Achiever award by Lion’s Club, Pollachi.
• Outstanding Role Model award by Nethrodhaya, Chennai.
• First visually challenged to receive Doctorate in Commerce in India by Teacher’s Association of Blind, Salem.
• Best Teacher award by Success Lion’s Club, Pollachi.
• Dr.M.Chithirai Selvan has received a Smart Inspirer Award 2022-2023 from i-Net Technologies.
• Regular counseling given to students to appear for CA/CS programmes
• More than 15 are undergoing their professional courses like CA, CS, CMA, and Coaching Point.
• Recently our department has signed an MOU with “Chezhian Academy” to assist our students in more number to undergo professional courses
• Our student Mr. Suresh(2015-18) has received “MAHARISHI AWARD” for his best performance in yoga in our college and received participation certificate for participating in yoga competition held in Haryana, representing Tamil Nādu team.
• Regular counseling for both personal and career development
• Regular practice of Morning Prayer in the first hour
• Celebration of traditional poojas and festivals

Association

Association

ABLE – Association for Business Leaders and Entrepreneurs.

Our Department of commerce came into being in the year 1968 to offer knowledge about commerce to students of our locality. It later on established an association named, “ABLE – Association for Business Leaders and Entrepreneurs”.

Through this association, our department is achieving its vision and mission continuously. They are:

Creating facilities to make learning an interesting one.
Fine tuning the analytical skills of students through case study approach.
Enlightening students on the jobs for commerce graduates.
Making students, seasoned-citizens through value education.

With this Association as a succor, our department has conducted many seminars, conferences, lectures, workshop, symposium and A COMMERCE EXHIBITION to help the students to come out of their delirium in upcoming recent trends arising in commerce field.

Regular counselling given to students to appear for CA/CS programme
More than 15 are undergoing their professional courses like CA,CS,CMA,Coaching Point.

Extension Activities:

Different programmes were conducted with organisations outside to provide awareness on public interest and inculcate knowledge on different areas of commerce and make them a good

  • A programme was jointly organised by PG and Research Department of Commerce with Citizen’s Voice Coimbatore to have a pollution free Green environment by planting tree sapling and make awareness among students about Waste Management.
  • Awareness on Higher Education in Commerce to Rural School Students through expos based on commerce terms like Accounting day, Conflux, Phygital marketing
  • A Programme on Educating Coir Entrepreneurs in Pollachi
  • Awareness on “Online Employment Registration and Renewal”
  • Awareness on “Online Services” to Rural School Students”
