The Department of Commerce came into being in the year 1995 to offer quality education in commerce in this region. The Department has crossed several milestones in achieving remarkable academic progress. The Department caters to all round development of the students, both technically and professionally.

The B.Com programme is designed to enable and empower students to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to analyze and synthesize the contemporary realities of the domain of business. The aim of this program is to instill conceptual and practical understanding, which will enable students to manage businesses and organizations, and prepare them to face the challenges of tomorrow. Commerce is a versatile subject of study as it is perceived to be fairly strong in fetching jobs in the business-trade-industry sector.

• ABC Analysis is prepared on the basis of the student’s academic performance, and other criteria include communication skills, discipline, general knowledge, reading habits, extracurricular activities, attitude, leadership quality, creativity, and attendance.

• Bavatarani T M(22-CO-79) completed NPTEL online course “Business Fundamentals for Entrepreneurs” with a consolidated score of 95% out of 1377 candidates appeared in the exam – August-September 2023 – 4 week course.
• Akshya Sree V (23-CO- 29), Siddharth (23-CO- 64), Bavatarani T M (22-CO-79 ), Divya Kiruthika K (22-CO-35), Krishma K (21-CO-38), Nithila N (21-CO-81) have received Proficiency Award in Recognition and Appreciation of their Academic Performance during the Academic year 2023-2024.
• Our department students are actively participated in the various extracurricular like NSS, NCC, Sports & Games, various club activities and Competitions organized by our College and other Institutions.

• Most of the students received the scholarship for their education from the Government and Non- Government sectors namely, Alumni Scholarship, Arutchelvar Scholarship, Puthumai Penn Scholarship, Tamil Pudhalvan etc.,
