UG Department of Commerce with Computer Applications

Vision

To provide quality education in commerce with immense computer background and to make the students face the ever growing corporate challenges with moral values.

Mission

To empower the students by instilling the latest knowledge and skills in their study area and
thereby make them not only employable but also socially, culturally and ethically a rich citizen.

The UG Department of Commerce with Computer Applications was introduced in NGM College during the academic year 2000 – 2001 with the motto of providing quality education in commerce with the immense computer background. The students’ strength has considerably increased and due to amplified demand for the course, an additional section was introduced in the academic year 2007 – 2008. This course blends core commerce courses with courses in computer application. Every semester includes core commerce courses and a computer course with practical exposure. The curriculum is updated based on the updates in the field of commerce and computer arena and the recommendation of the experts. The course curriculum enables the students to undergo for institutional training in specific fields to make the students industry ready. The programme facilitates the students to develop in all dimensions inclusive of curricular and co curricular aspects.

are with Ph.D., and 1 faculty with NET
• Latest trends in computer application software and packages
• Knowledge in the fields of accounting by applying the concepts and techniques of Commerce
to meet out Industrial expectations.
• Employability skills through design and development of applications through software.
• Equip the technical skills to meet the local and global challenges.
• Students of the department are given opportunity to participate in various clubs and events of
the college.
• The Department has 8 clubs to exhibit the talents of the students and it is run by the students.
• Every year tree plants are donated to the society by the students.
• Environmental Expo is being organized every year in the month of March.
• Students are offered with various Value Added Courses, Course through IIT – Bombay (Spoken
Tutorial), Swayam Courses, etc.,
