Extension Activity of SRI RAMA JAYAM TRUST

“IF YOU CAN’T FEED A HUNDRED PEOPLE THEN FEED JUST ONE”

TO THE SAYINGS OF MOTHER TERESA.

A thought of feeding the hunger among the students made the activity possible. On the search, it moved on to Mr. D. Sukumar (Pollachi Sukumar), who rose to fame as a social activist helping the poverty. Promoting this idea among students, the Department of Computer Science motivated this to an extension activity. Department of Computer Science, students made a startup of fund raising on the rise of feeding the hunger.

The couples Mr. D. Sukumar and Mrs. Nirmaladevi have been cooking and delivering food for more than 400 needy for the past 13 years who are on the streets and The Department of Computer Science students decided to involve themselves in their community service.

OUTCOME:

EXTENSION ACTIVITY: FEEDING THE HUNGER.

More than 200 needy were benefited using this sponsored amount. This activity made students to know the depth of community service and an inner-self vow was made to do such community service in upcoming activities.
