The Department of English Language designed its Bridge Course content to muffle up the cranny between the novices and the facilitator with an objective to provide adequate time for transition at College. During the bridge course the fledgling will be equipped with the knowledge and the confidence needed to take on bigger challenges in academic endeavour. The Bridge Course in English, as an interactive and dynamic learning, enhances the neophyte to have significant progress in Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing skills. This five day program allows the individual to experience the joy of learning, stand up to peer pressures and to take decisions with courage.The Bridge course commenced from 20.09.2021, and continued for a week, to the students of various departments at UG level. The heterogeneous branches of study were grouped into five divisions. The sessions allotted were handled by the faculty of English to familiarize the learners to the new arenas of communication and to encourage them to look beyond grammatical structures. An exclusive syllabus with enriched content was framed by the department of English Language to equip them with the fundamentals of communication skills as to suit global needs. The module is designed to brew the students to articulate better in English thereby increasing their comprehension level and self -confidence. ICT enabled tools were used to project the notions of the concerned curriculum. The sound grasp of the fundamentals will certainly lay a strong foundation for a life- long learning process. At the end of the programme, assessment was made to as certain the comprehension level of the students of different groups on 25.09.2021, through a test concentrating the content uploaded. The five groups engaged by the faculty members comprised of 706 students and the feedback received speaks for the beneficiaries’ comprehension and the faculty members’ commitment.
